What is HDPE?

 HDPE stands for High Density Polyethylene which is an exceptionally durable plastic that has infinite recyclability.


How much of Poly Furniture lumber is recycled?

Over 90% our poly lumber is made from post-consumer bottle waste, such as milk and detergent bottles or other HDPE post industrial material.


Is the Poly Furniture color only on the surface?

The color in Poly Furniture lumber runs all the way through the lumber, so the color is not only on the surface.


Is Poly Lumber UV protected?

Poly-wood contains UV-inhibited pigment systems that reduce fading.


Does Poly Furniture contain wood or natural fibers?

Poly lumber is made from HDPE and does not contain wood or any natural fibers.


Can Poly Furniture be painted?

Due to the durable nature of poly material, it will not need to be stained, sealed or painted.


Can Poly Wood be sanded?

Minor scratches can be handled with light sanding; however it should not be completely resurfaced.


Can Poly Furniture be power washed?

A high pressure power washer my be used for regular maintenance to keep your furniture looking like new. Pressure should not exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent of a car wash. The surface characteristics of the product may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases.


How do I clean Poly Furniture?

For regular maintenance simply wash the product with soap and water. For advanced cleaning or to remove fungi, use a solution of 1/3 bleachf and 2/3 water. Fungi can also be removed using any readilty available anti fungal product.


What is the hardware made from?

For optimal performance and longevity most manufacturers use genuine stainless steel hardware and will not rust.


Is assembly required?

All of our furniture is designed to require minimal assembly. Some models even unfold right out of the box with no assembly necessary. Those that require assembly often take less than 30 minutes to complete and include basic tools with simple instructions.  All furniture is at least partially assembled, so that all you need to do is attach legs, arms, back, etc. All hardware is included and holes are redrilled for easy assembly.
